DENTURES

A denture is a removable dental appliance created to replace missing teeth. Dentures are an important part of keeping the teeth and mouth in frame when one or more teeth are missing.

Dentures can:

  • Replace complete or partial tooth loss
  • Improve your ability to speak, chew, and digest
  • Enhance your smile

At Dr. Wurtzel’s office, we offer both complete dentures and partial dentures. Complete dentures are a great solution for patients who are missing all of their teeth, while partial dentures will fill the spaces for missing teeth along the upper or lower arch. Partial dentures also help to prevent other teeth from shifting in the mouth. You will also be given the choice between traditional dentures and implant supported dentures.

Traditional Dentures | A traditional denture uses a dental adhesive to stay in place while you eat, chew, smile, and talk. Traditional dentures are custom-fitted and designed to meet your unique tooth needs. Each traditional dentures set is removable and easy to maintain.

Implant Supported Dentures | Implant supported dentures provide patients with a more permanent feeling solution to tooth loss. By strategically placing dental implants, Dr. Wurtzel can secure your dentures to your mouth, and help improve your oral health.

No matter which type of dentures is right for you, dentures will lend dental support and function to your smile.

The Denture Procedure

The procedure requires multiple visits to our dental office scheduled over the course of several weeks. At these appointments, accurate impressions of your teeth will be taken to provide custom-made dentures. Preliminary fitting appointments may be necessary to create the best shape, color, and fit of the denture. At the final appointment, your dentures will be ready for adjustment and to be placed by one of our dentists to fit your mouth comfortably and naturally.

Please provide time for your muscles and tissues to adjust to the new dentures. Additional instructions regarding how to care for your dentures will be given by our dentist. If you are interested in learning more about dentures, give Dr. Wurtzel’s office a call today!
